An unfinished basement framed out into a family room, a home office and a storage zone kept separate behind its own wall, with moisture conditions checked and a vapor barrier installed before any insulation went in.
Flooring throughout is rated for below-grade use, and an egress window was added to the office so it can legally double as a guest room.
